About Technology Solutions

While Bombardier is primarily known as a designer and manufacturer of planes and trains, much of our work involves operating and maintaining rail systems around the globe. Our Services group maintains commuter railroads in Los Angeles, Miami, Boston and San Diego. In Toronto we operate GO Transit - Canada's most successful commuter railroad. In southern New Jersey we provide a turn-key solution to NJ Transit, where we run all aspects of the RiverLINE - a DMU service that connects Camden with Trenton, NJ. Bombardier people can be found at key airports around the world where we operate and maintain Automated People Mover (APM) systems. We do this work at airports like JFK, Newark, San Francisco and Frankfurt. In addition, we maintain over 8,000 rail vehicles around the world. We learned long ago that meeting these service demands requires a powerful set of tools: Talented people, advanced technology, and workforce development programs that enhance our team. These elements are critical to our success. As Bombardier won more contracts, people took notice and wanted to use some of our capabilities and technologies to help improve their business. This was the genesis of Technology Solutions.

As our entire team spends more time at transit agencies than at our own offices we are very well traveled - some of us spend up to 75% of our time working at transit agencies around the country. At every shop, control room, and safety briefing we learn something new. These experiences, and the knowledge that we gain from our travels, is what drives us in developing new technologies and new solutions to challenges that our industry has faced for decades. We also get the opportunity to explore new ideas in many industries around the globe. Our Team

Our team is made up of a diverse group of people that have a few common characteristics - they love a challenge, they never stop looking at ways to solve problems, and they are the epitome of "high energy". They believe that the system can be fixed no matter how long it has been broken, and "can't" is not a word. Some started with us as Co-Op students while others have worked for decades in the transit business.
