| Just in TimeEuropean statistics show that level crossing accidents account for only 2% of road fatalities but 33%of rail fatalities. Most are due to road users failing to observe mandatory stop lights, signals, and basic traffic safety rules. People who encounter the railway crossing regularly or who live near the crossing are most at risk, suggesting that familiarity may make people less careful. To combat this phenomenon, the Road Safety unit at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Mobility & Transport financed this short and effective video as part of its special educational initiative. |

| RWP Training and Network Rail Network Rail owns and operates Britain's rail infrastructure. They also are a world leader in safety and they are very progressive at making sure that every one of their employees has easy access to information to help them do their job safely. We came across a series of videos on YouTube that Network Rail produced to make Roadway Worker Protection a top priority. This one is called "Hit or Miss", and it illustrates the impact of a fatality and a near miss on the railroad. |
